New Mexico

Took an unexpected road trip to New Mexico, d/t the passing of one of my great uncles.  He lived to be 90 years old and was still a practicing physician.  Probably still paying on his student loans.
The drive took about 8hrs, including some stops to get out and stretch and my legs.  Not bad, but I was happy to have company on the return trip

There is definitely a lot of nothingness.  It's amazing how far you can go without seeing anyone

The V.L.A or The Very Large Array.  It's interesting how you suddenly come upon what seems to be a few dozen of these massive telescopes.  I was just hoping that there wouldn't be any contact with hostile alien life forms as I drove thru.  Fortunately, was able to stop, stretch my legs for about 20mins and drive thru without any issues
There are a few small towns you drive thru along the way.   One of them is Pie Town.  According to Wikepedia the population is 187.  Which after driving thru seems high.
There were maybe 3 or 4 different pie shops and not much else.
One of the other highlights of Pie Town is the windmill museum
I did stop in a few other towns along the way including Magdalena and Socorro, but didn't get any photos

I arrived safely and with no issues.  It had been awhile since I had been to Las Cruces.

Spent a little time lounging by the pool.

Overall the trip was nice.  Sad it had to be under these circumstances.
